Yom Kippur the Blood of Jesus and the Final Judgement

Pastor Matthew Hartman

In this sermon, Pastor Matthew Hartman teaches on the depth and power of Yom Kippur as revealed in Scripture. From Leviticus 23 we see God’s appointed day of atonement, and from Leviticus 17:11 the necessity of blood for forgiveness of sins. Through Hebrews 9:11-14 and 10:1-4, we learn that the sacrifice of Jesus is perfect, complete, and once for all—His blood is enough.

We are also reminded to prepare our hearts for the Final Judgement, as Jesus taught in Matthew 25:1-13 (the parable of the ten virgins) and Matthew 7:21-23 (where not all who say “Lord, Lord” will enter the Kingdom). True love for Jesus is shown in obedience, as He said in John 14:21-23: “Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me.”

This message calls us to repentance, readiness, and intimacy with Christ—trusting fully in His blood, walking in His Word, and preparing for the day when we will stand before Him.
