Sukkot: Past, Present, and Future

Oct 28, 2025    Pastor Matthew Hartman

In this message, Pastor Matthew explores the prophetic depth and enduring relevance of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, through the lens of Scripture from beginning to end.

We begin in Leviticus 23:1–2, where the LORD declares that the Feasts are “the LORD’s appointed times”—they belong to Him, not to any one nation or tradition. These appointed days reveal God’s calendar, His plan of redemption, and His desire to dwell with His people.

From there, we look at the present celebration and spiritual significance of Sukkot as a time of rejoicing, remembrance, and dwelling in God’s presence.

Then we look forward to the Millennial Kingdom in Zechariah 14, where all nations will be required to come up to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot, showing that this feast is not only historical—it is prophetic and future!

Finally, we see the ultimate fulfillment in Revelation 21, when God Himself will dwell (tabernacle) with humanity forever, wiping away every tear. Sukkot points to the day when heaven and earth become one and God lives with us eternally.

Key Themes:

✅ The LORD’s appointed days (Leviticus 23:1–2)

✅ Sukkot as a celebration of God’s presence

✅ Future observance in the Millennial Kingdom (Zechariah 14)

✅ Final fulfillment in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21)

✅ God’s desire to dwell with His people—past, present, and future

Sukkot is more than a feast—it is the story of God dwelling with us, from the wilderness to eternity.
